Michael Moka

Michael is an outstanding, heart driven First Foundation Scholar who never ceases to amaze. Despite early challenges, Michael excelled in every aspect of school life and was Head Boy in 2006.

As the first ASB Scholar Michael studied Commerce at The University of Auckland and fully immersed himself into university life by becoming Co-president of the Maori Students Association on campus. Leading his own Kapahaka group in conjunction with the university, he is a natural role model for other Maori students.

Michael was employed by the Business School at the university and worked full time in the Department of Executive Development. A real bonus he says is that the Department encouraged professional development and is a perfect opportunity for his pursuit of his Masters in the next few years.

Michael is currently Director of Indigenous Growth Limited, a company he created in 2013 with the goal to encourge Indigenous and Pasifika communities to empower themselves so they can thrive in any field they choose.
