Heidi Lanauze

CLASS OF: 2008
SCHOOL: Hornby High School
SCHOLARSHIP PARTNER: BECA

Heidi moved to Christchurch from the Chatham Islands with her mother in 2005 and her life goals revolve very much around helping her Iwi in the Chatham Islands. At Hornby High School she achieved well in NCEA and added to her academic achievements, successes in music. She was also a strong advocate in a number of awareness committees both inside and outside of school. 'Heidi is an independent student, intuitive and mature, who relates well to her teachers who appreciate her positive and focussed attitude. She relates well to all people,' said her Deputy Principal.

Iain Sutherland and Melissa Foster from Beca were greatly impressed by Heidi's all-round potential and rapport with people and are delighted to be helping her along this pathway to success.

Heidi is studying a Bachelor of Applied Science at The University of Canterbury towards a double major in Archaeology and Marine Biology.
