Kimberley's Yr 12 Dean recommended her for a First Foundation
Scholarship as "a student who has the ability to go far." Her
highly developed work habits saw her succeed through high school as
a high achiever and an active participant in Sports, school
productions and outreach groups such as Amnesty
International.
Carrying out her own research about Research New Zealand in
preparation for her interview with them, Kimberley demonstrated her
enthusiasm for receiving a scholarship from the company. "Working
in Research New Zealand helped boost my confidence as a person. I
will be the first to describe myself as shy and uncertain of myself
and my skills before entering the Scholarship" states
Kimberley.
Over the course of her Scholarship, Kimberley faced devastating
family challenges and as a result had to dig deep to find the drive
to continue her studies. Studying for a Bachelor of Business
Studies at Massey University in Wellington, Kimberley is continuing
extramurally. Alongside study she is enjoying current employment as
a Sales Consultant and Receptionist at Configure Express Gym where
she loves the opportunity to "help other women make steps towards a
healthier life".
