At school Lee was without a doubt an outstanding academic with a
passion for music. While still a secondary school student she won
the 2003 KMMTA piano competition and had the fantastic opportunity
of participating in the NZ Secondary Schools composition workshop
with her composition selected to be played by the NZSO. Lee's
accomplishments as a pianist caused her to consider studying music
at a tertiary level. Lisa O'Rourke, Ernst & Young's Human
Resources Co-ordinator at the time said, "We were impressed at the
variety of sporting, community and career minded activities Lee did
while maintaining excellent grades at school. Her professional
manner and interest in Ernst & Young and the role she would
take in the company demonstrated a willingness to achieve."
Lee Bremner studied her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature,
Linguistics and Philosophy at Victoria University in Wellington,
graduating in 2008 and winning the Maurice Goldsmith Prize for Best
Philosophy Graduate. In 2009 she travelled to the Netherlands
where she worked for NGO United Network of Young Peacebuilders in
the Hague as an Advocacy and Communications Intern. In 2010 she
returned to New Zealand and completed her Honours in Philosophy,
being awarded 1st Class Honours and worked as a tutor for the
philosophy department. Lee now works as the Commercial Manager for
a small science-start up that develops innovative recycling
technology. Lee's role includes marketing, business development,
project management, and client management.
