At school Phillipa had a reputation for being a focused and
motivated student. Her Careers Advisor at Catholic Cathedral
College said "her work ethic, excellent level of output and
attention to detail sets her apart from other students and allows
her to achieve academically." Her academic and artistic talent were
reflected in the prizes she won for Science, Business Studies and
Art. Phillipa always had a lot to balance in her busy schedule,
including Sports, Stage Challenge and part time work.
Tony McCabe at Fulton Hogan was impressed by Phillipa's preparation
and knowledge of his company at the interview for a First
Foundation Scholarship. "She also impressed with her intelligence
and sense of humour. She has a good work-life balance with
school/study, sport and family." At Fulton Hogan, Phillipa enjoyed
developing skills in a variety of tasks that help contribute to the
running of the business.
Phillipa studied at The University of Otago for conjoint Bachelor
of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. She is currently
