Tahauariki has always displayed real leadership qualities that
earned him considerable mana from his peers, family and teachers
and in acknowledgement of this his school appointed him kaihono
(prefect) in 2004. Throughout school he excelled in academic
subjects with excellent results in Maori, Mathematics, English and
Physics. Tahauariki was also a talented sportsman in rugby,
basketball, touch rugby and rugby league. He played

Council that he will seize the opportunity of being a First
Foundation Scholar with both hands. Tahauariki is currently
completing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours majoring in Maori and
Philosophy at The University of Auckland.
