Tayla's quick and intelligent mind is an asset to her. She
passed NCEA Level 1 with an Excellence endorsement and aims to do
the same in Level 2 and 3. Alongside her academic strengths in the
Sciences and Mathematics, Talya is known as reliable, punctual,
organised and loyal. Tayla is a strength to her Mother who has
cancer. "Talya is an amazing young woman who has never let family
circumstances and life's adversities deter her," said her
Principal.
In extracurricular activities, Tayla has participated in several
different leadership programmes through her school and shows a
willingness to continue to develop leadership abilities. Tayla
plays Netball for her school and in 2011 was Vice-Captain for the
team. She balances part time work with her school commitments,
which include committees and inter-school sports.
At university in Auckland or Waikato, Tayla anticipates taking
Mathematics or Chemistry related paper, with the vision to go on to
train as a secondary school teacher.
