The Associate Principal of James Cook High described Uani as
self-motivated and enthusiastic about learning. Throughout his time
at school, Uani's talents shone in business studies and he stood
out as a leader amongst his peers. His leadership qualities
expanded to the sports field, where Uani captained the Counties
Manukau Under 20's basketball team for two years running, as well
as coaching the Under 12's.
When Uani was awarded a First Foundation Scholarship with Fliway,
Nigel Fisher, National Transport Manager at the time said "We chose
Uani because he showed a lot of enthusiasm for achieving his goals
in life. He is dedicated to bettering himself and is prepared to
put in the hard work to get there."
Uani is currently working as a Business Manager at Pace Couriers
and his study at AUT is ongoing where he is working towards
completing a Bachelor of Business. As official logistics partners
for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, Pace was engaged Uani as a Corporate
Host for their top 50 corporate executives from all over the world
while they are in New Zealand for the Cup.
