The Principal of James Cook High School
strongly supports Victor Lefaoseu's application for a First
Foundation Scholarship: 'Victor is a personable young man with the
potential to become a really successful and contributing member of
society. He is a charming, self-effacing, conscientious student who
will make the most of his circumstances in order to have a
successful future.' In 2009, Victor achieved NCEA Level 1.
Victor's leadership qualities have been recognised at school and
he is part of the PILOT (Pacific Island Leaders of Tomorrow)
Programme. He is also passionate about American football and is the
captain of the school American Football team and the Counties
Manukau Representative side. He also plays volleyball, badminton
and basketball. Victor attends the London Ministry of Society
Church and helps do fundraising for community projects. Victor is a
gifted orator and won the James Cook High School Speech Competition
and the Honours Award for Speech.
Victor wishes to become a leading entrepreneur and wishes to
attend The University of Auckland and further develop his skills in
Commerce (Management) and also Law.
"Victor was selected from an amazingly talented group of inspiring
young people and making a decision was extremely difficult - one of
the hardest we have made this year. We were fortunate at Coca-Cola
to have so many potential scholars to choose from and we would have
loved to take them all. Victor however impressed us at our
interview with his confidence and maturity - well beyond his years.
Victor demonstrated a real passion and determination which gave him
a slight edge. We are excited about having Victor as part of the
Coke team and being part of his life for the next 4 years and
hopefully beyond." - Martin King, Head of Talent at Coca-Cola
