Brooke wrote in her application that in her first two years at college she was "heading down the wrong track and hanging out with the wrong crowd".
With the loving support of her family she realised "there were a lot of good things in life and a change was needed"
As well as being awarded many prizes for academic achievement, Brooke has embraced many other aspects of school life. She was elected student trustee of The Melville High School Board of Trustees in 2012 and 2013 and Best Buddies President 2013 - a global volunteer movement aimed at helping to create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
She has been involved with Student Council and Amnesty International and is currently 2014 Sports Co-ordinator.
Brooke enjoys netball, surfing, reading, going to the gym, Waka Ama and anything associated with marine life.
Brooke intends to study business at Waikato University in 2015.
