Jenny has had a lot of change in her life. From the ages of 6 to 10 years old, her family moved continuously so she had many ‘first days’ at many schools. Coming from a family with five siblings, there were challenging times, but her parents always strived to give their children opportunities for the future. Jenny will be the first in her family to attend university. She is of Samoan and European descent.
Jenny in her own words says, "I grew up in LA, Lower Auckland, where the stereotypes of overstayers, underachievers, window washers, and addicts brewed, so of course as a kid I didn’t believe in success for the brown Samoan girl. But now I am aware that we as Pacific Islanders have the same chance of success as others where the only thing that stops us is ourselves. I want to be able to inspire each Islander to believe they have the same opportunity as the next."
Jenny attended Aorere College and will go to the University of Auckland to complete a Bachelor in Forensic Science.
