Kaylah Stirling-Kelly

Class of: 2017
School: St Catherine’s College
Scholarship Partner: BNZ
On Christmas Day 2016, Kaylah and her mother spent the day hosting a Community Christmas lunch for 80 people because their family have a heart for social justice.

As a young student, she has had to live away from her mother and siblings in Otaki to stay in Wellington with her grandmother to complete her education. This tough decision has developed resilience within Kaylah and a determination to succeed.

A fluent Te Reo Maori speaker with a love for her culture, Kaylah regularly goes to Kura Reo to maintain and improve her fluency.

Kaylah will be the first in her family to go to university.
