She has certainly made the most of opportunities to travel with trips to Rio de Janeiro to represent New Zealand at the Waka Ama World Championships, and to Australia as one of four students chosen to represent the Vodafone Warriors at the NRL Indigenous All Stars Youth Summit.

Manuka was a prefect and received an award for Best All Rounder.
