HEAD BOY, 2006
Michael is an outstanding, heart driven First Foundation Scholar who never ceases to amaze. Despite early challenges, Michael excelled in every aspect of school life.
Michael studied Commerce at The University of Auckland and fully immersed himself into university life by becoming Co-president of the Maori Students Association on campus. Leading his own Kapahaka group in conjunction with the university, he is a natural role model for other Maori students.
After graduating in 2009, Michael was employed by the Business School at the university and worked in the Department of Executive Development as the Marketing Co-ordinator-Short Courses.
He was also President and Treasurer of Nga Taurira Maori (2008-2010) and Founding Member and Past President of Manafika, a Maori amd Pasifika Island Student Association for the University of Auckland Business School.
In 2014 Micheal created Indigenous Growth Limited, which has the goal of encouraging the Indigenous and Pasifika communities trapped in the poverty cycle to empower themselves so they can thrive in any given field they choose.
