Pamela Botshiwe

Class of: 2009
School: One Tree Hill College
Scholarship Partner: Auckland DHB Charitable Trust

'Pamela's sheer determination to do well academically is her strength' stated the Principal of One Tree Hill College in regards to Pamela's application to become a First Foundation Scholar. Pamela grew up in Zimbabwe and since moving to New Zealand, she has had to learn to speak, read and write in a second language. She has made outstanding efforts to do this and now has a number of academic achievements in New Zealand to be proud of. Throughout school Pamela involved herself in sports, the life of the school and her community. She even learnt Samoan dance for the Polyfest.

Pamela has found a lot of support from her Mentor Caroline Clarke, Marketing Manager at Warehouse Stationery. Work at Starship Hospital, through her Scholarship with A+ Trust, is directly in line with her study goals to become a Nurse. This comment by A+ Trust reiterates Pamela's intrinsic love for people: 'Pamela is a capable student with an infectious smile, warm nature and the patience to help those less able than herself.' Pamela studied at MIT and has completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree and her State Registration exams and nursed at Middlemore Hospital. She moved to Adelaide in September 2017 to continue with her nursing.
