HEAD BOY, 2014
Saynarvat's mother escaped from war-torn Laos 30 years ago as a refugee and is raising four children by herself. Saynarvat was determined to attend university to make his mother proud of him, and also for his teachers, friends and family who have helped him on this journey so far.
As Head Boy, Saynarvat demonstrated a continuance of strong leadership skills. He was also a high academic achiever, gaining level 1 and 2 NCEA excellence endorsements in Physical Education and a level 1 excellence endorsement in the Performing Arts.
He wasinvolved in many areas of school including playing rugby for the First XV and performing in the school drama production.
With strengths in sports and drama, Saynarvat consideried either pursuing a Bachelor of Sports and Recreation or a Bachelor of Performing Arts.
Say completed a Bachelor of Sport health and Human Performance from Waikato University in December 2017.
