Silivia (Lea)  was seen as a leading student at Aorere College, serving the school in leadership and mentoring roles. This included being chosen as Deputy Head Girl in 2009. The Principal of Aorere College described Silivia as a student who 'consistently demonstrates a level of maturity beyond her years'. Silivia's parents and five siblings are proud of her achievements at school as they only moved from Tonga in 2003 to improve the family's educational opportunities.

Silivia is very in touch with her Tongan heritage and at Aorere College she was a member of the Tongan group who were first place at the ASB Polynesian Festival in 2008. Individually at the Festival, Silivia was awarded first place in the Tongan speech competition.

Lea completed a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Auckland and is currently working as a Project Co-ordinator for Health Navigator NZ.
