Before attending an open day at the University of Canterbury, Tarryn thought university was an option exclusively for young people from affluent families. After the open day, she realised the possibility of attending university was available to her and she took the opportunity with both hands and applied to First Foundation.
Working with children is a passion which has seen Tarryn volunteer for community camps, youth councils, and the Girl Guides. An individual with many talents, Tarryn has also illustrated a children's book called ‘Mouse went to Mercury’.
Tarryn’s dream is to own and operate an outdoor education facility for children and will be embarking on study to complete a Bachelor of Commerce.
Tarryn has three siblings and a wonderfully supportive mother.
