At school Tegan was always at the top of her year group academically and she received many awards for Academic Excellence. Tegan played in the 1st XI Hockey team and enjoyed taking part in theatrical productions, including the Smokefree Challenge and the Sheila Winn Shakespeare Competition. In her Yr 11 she was the proud recipient of a scholarship from the Black and White Golfers Association to go on the Spirit of New Zealand. While acknowledging her all-round aptitude, her Principal said that "her real strength is her determination and commitment to her work."
Tegan's outstanding work ethic has overflowed into her scholarship work experience and she has impressed Kathryn Officer of Griffins Foods Limited as a well-rounded individual. "Tegan displays all the qualities we feel will enable her to succeed in her chosen career."
Tegan is the first member of her family to attend University and completed a Bachelor of Science from The University of Auckland in 2012. She then futhered her studies and graduated in 2014 with a MSci, Marine Sciences.
Tegan worked for Niwa as a Marine Ecology Technician and is currently working at Griffins Foods Ltd as a Technical writer.
